About Clarity

Overview

Clarity (thinkclarity.news) is a French news-intelligence site that cross-references daily coverage from 55 newsrooms. Every story card carries a categorical left/centre/right breakdown of the outlets that ran it, turning framing differences into a measurable figure instead of an assertion.

Core modules

  • À la une — front-page stories with an outlet-distribution bar and a per-camp reading count.
  • Les débats — pairs opposing editorial angles on a contested topic, with the number of newsrooms behind each reading.
  • Angles morts — flags stories picked up only by one side of the spectrum.
  • Baromètre 2027 — vote-intention polling (7 polls, 7 institutes, 12–22 Oct.) mapped against each candidate's share of media voice.

Operational notes

The header exposes live throughput: 2,639 articles read, 55 papers and 65 subjects over a rolling 24-hour window. Sections filter by Politique, International, Économie, Société, Culture and Tech. A newsletter and an XML feed are available; API access, pricing and third-party integrations are not disclosed on the homepage.

Pros

  • Each story card ships a hard left/centre/right segmentation with outlet counts, so bias claims are quantified rather than asserted.
  • The Angles morts module explicitly lists stories covered by one camp and ignored by the other, which is hard to replicate manually.
  • The 2027 barometer combines seven polling institutes with media share-of-voice data for each candidate.
  • A live 24-hour counter (articles, papers, subject count) makes the aggregation pipeline's throughput verifiable.
  • Distribution is frictionless: newsletter signup and an XML feed are offered without an account.

Cons

  • Scope is limited to French newsrooms and a French political framing, so it is of little use for other media markets.
  • The five-camp classification is an editorial layer applied to outlets, not a per-article measurement.
  • No public API, data export or pricing information is documented on the site.
