Overview
Capture Studio is a Windows-only screen recorder bundled with a multi-track video editor, published by Norwegian developer OpenHub AS. Capture handles full screens, individual windows, or drawn regions at frame rates up to 120 FPS, constrained by GPU capability and disk write speed. Finishing happens inside the same application.
Capture and editing pipeline
Recording outputs a smoothed cursor with click ripples, smart zoom that tracks where clicks land, and optional keystroke overlays. The timeline supports trimming, titles, stickers, arrows, spotlights, alignment guides, keyframed privacy blur, floating displays and background gradients, all previewed live before export. Snapshot mode assembles click-by-click walkthroughs and exports them to Markdown, PDF, HTML or PowerPoint.
AI and audio tooling
On-device speech recognition generates styled subtitles automatically, while Studio Voice synthesizes narration from 85 neural voices across 22 languages and clones a speaker's voice from roughly ten seconds of audio. Studio Avatar renders a lip-synced presenter. These neural add-ons need NVIDIA RTX-class hardware, with 16 GB RAM suggested for voice generation.
Licensing and requirements
Early Bird pricing is a one-time €85 for a lifetime licence with one year of updates; Voice and Avatar are included there and cost €21.20 each otherwise. Minimum specifications list Windows 10 64-bit, a 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU, 8 GB RAM and DirectX 11 graphics, with Windows 11, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 2060 recommended.
