About Vibes'n'Feels

Overview

Vibes'n'Feels is a mobile app that converts fresh camera captures into geo-anchored "Vibes": a photo or a video of up to 20 seconds, a nearby pin adjustable within 250 m, and an emoji chosen from six emotional spectra. It targets adults 18 and older who want ephemeral, place-based sharing rather than a permanent profile feed.

Capture, place, feel

  • Live capture only — Gallery imports are rejected, so every Vibe documents a present moment.
  • Location is mandatory — Pins are constrained to a 250 m radius and re-verified after capture, with no background tracking.
  • Six spectra — Joy, Love, Anger, Sadness, Discomfort and Surprise each expand into a specific emoji choice.
  • Three audience tiers — Personal (on-device), Friends (3 days, mutual adds only) or Everyone (24 hours on the public map after safety screening).

Privacy model

Camera originals stay on the device; sharing and sync rely on processed JPEG or MP4 assets, and public videos may be screened via sampled frames and speech. Feels are anonymous counters that never influence discovery or ranking. A confirmed account unlocks video Vibes and up to 1 GB of sync, while the product itself remains in private testing ahead of store releases.

Pros

  • Live-capture-only rule blocks recycled gallery content from entering the map.
  • Tiered audiences with automatic expiry (3 days for Friends, 24 hours for Everyone) limit long-term exposure of shared pins.
  • No follower counts, public friend lists, direct messages or popularity rankings to game.
  • Original camera files stay local, with only processed JPEG or MP4 assets used for sharing and sync.
  • Friends are private and mutual, added by exact username, preventing unsolicited contact.

Cons

  • Location access is mandatory, making the app unusable indoors or wherever GPS positioning is unreliable.
  • Discovering Friends requires typing exact usernames since no people search exists, which slows network growth.
  • Still limited to private testing, so there is no public App Store or Google Play availability yet.
