SourceX
SourceX brokers enterprise data licensing for AI labs, handling rights review, de-identification, contracts, delivery and payment while suppliers approve every release.
About SourceX
Overview
SourceX is an enterprise data transaction layer that lets companies license everyday operational records — support conversations, engineering histories, CRM activity and approved documents — to the labs training AI models. The platform manages sourcing, rights review, de-identification, contracting, delivery and payment inside a single relationship, and no dataset leaves a supplier until that supplier authorizes the release.
How It Works
The system breaks each transaction into five controlled stages: supply, rights, preparation, approval and delivery. Qualifying companies complete a five-question fit assessment covering headcount, operating years, company status, industry and data categories; nothing is uploaded at this stage. Matching records are then identified against buyer demand, licensing rights are confirmed, personal identifiers are stripped according to a dataset-specific preparation record, and permitted usage is written into the agreement the supplier signs.
Practical Considerations
- Eligibility: designed for organizations with 50+ full-time employees at peak, based in the U.S., Canada or the EU
- Source systems: exports from Zendesk, Salesforce, GitHub Enterprise, Jira, SharePoint, NetSuite and similar platforms
- Buyer side: referenced AI developers include OpenAI, Meta, Google, Anthropic and Amazon, with no affiliation claimed
- Commercials: a one-time fee follows written data selection, and exclusivity is typically part of the signed terms
Pros
- Consolidates sourcing, rights review, de-identification, contracting, delivery and payment into one managed relationship rather than separate vendor engagements.
- Enforces supplier authorization as a hard gate, so nothing is released until the company approves the defined scope.
- Produces a documented evidence packet per dataset covering provenance, licensing rights, permitted usage and the privacy preparation record.
- Supports data exports from widely deployed enterprise systems including Zendesk, Salesforce, GitHub Enterprise, Jira, SharePoint and NetSuite.
- Offers a no-upload fit assessment that returns an indicative qualification signal without committing the company or exposing files.
Cons
- Qualification is restricted to organizations with 50+ full-time employees, which excludes smaller teams that may hold valuable records.
- Exclusivity terms are usually required, preventing suppliers from licensing the same dataset to other AI developers during the term.
- Once SourceX selects data in writing and pays the fee, the license becomes permanent, leaving limited room to reverse a completed deal.
